St.Lucia - Road trip to Marigot Bay

Great day spent in St Lucia. 

The nature of the Caribbean islands is breathtaking and if you are in the right mood, you will feel very energized and refreshed after a day soaking in all this spectacular natural beauty and the tranquility of it all.

Marigot Bay is located on the western coast of the Caribbean island country of Saint Lucia, 3.75 miles southwest from Castries 

Hire a car and you’ll find the roads are tricky and mountainous, like driving on a badly coiled hosepipe into the rainforest’s heart. Head south along the west coast to Marigot Bay and a tropical cove with a charismatic cluster of beachfront shacks and fishing boats straight out of a Death In Paradise episode. 

Driving in St Lucia is not everyone’s idea of a relaxing road trip. During our last 4 days on the island, we tackled many potholes, steep hills, hairpin bends and drivers who love to overtake on a corner. We got lost, were regularly terrified but ultimately exhilarated. Every completed journey felt like I had triumphed over an obstacle course. And we can honestly say we loved it!
